Birthday!
I regretted the exclamation marks the moment I added them. Too late, too late... The rest of the card is done after my standard go-to recipe these days. Little thinking required, that's nice too sometimes. :)

Butterfly
I like these scrappy, random cards. The ones that just fall together from cut-offs and tags and stuff that flows around on my desk. The ones that, although they aren't exiting and inventive, still hold their ground and find a nice balance almost on their own. The ones that are dark and earthy and yet has that little bit of glitter and spark that lifts my spirit.

Charger cable crochet
With a phone that's about three years old comes a battery that doesn't quite have the same stamina as before. Sometimes I'm caught a bit off guard and the battery runs very low if my work day is longer than expected. I've decided to keep a charger cable at work so that this problem is easily solved, but that brings the challenge of making sure that charger cable doesn't get "borrowed" more or less permanently by someone else.
Arts&crafts to the rescue! :) There's no question who this cable belongs to. :) Just in case though, I chose the oldest cable, already kept together by duct tape. I did single crochets tightly over the entire length of the cable, crocheting over both ends to hide them and twisting as I went along. Easy peasy. Ravelry link.

WIP: Beekeeper's madness
Reasons to knit the Beekeper’s Quilt: It’s so cute and squishy!!
Reasons NOT to knit the Beekeper’s Quilt: I have no need for a heavy blanket. I get bored without lace. I can’t stand seaming. I’m not fond of mismatching colours. I don’t have a lot of leftover sock yarn lying around. And I really should be knitting gifts for my nieces instead.
So clearly, the pro side wins out on this one. :) Let the madness begin!

Reid toddler cardigan
This toddler cardigan was knitted in a frenzy so to be ready for Christmas… The pattern is uncomplicated with an easily memorized repeat, so thankfully
it didn't take long!
-
My gauge was ever so slightly larger than in the pattern, so it’s a bit bigger even though I blocked it very gently, trying to stretch it only lengthwise. Better too big than too small, I always say. It’s still a little bit too short though... I also made a couple of other modifications, have a look on my Ravelry project page for the details.

Chalice scarf
I’ve never knitted with linen before, but Line by Sandes Garn is a linen-cotton blend that I’ve seen
used successfully in lace patterns so I gave it a go and it worked
well. The pattern, Chalice, is actually a baby blanket, but was easily modified to a scarf. For the details, have a look on my Ravelry project page.
-
I added clear faceted beads in a triangular pattern at each edge. Even though the yarn is lovely, it just needed that little sparkle of light.
-
A provisional cast on enabled me to work the pattern seamlessly from the centre of the scarf towards the edges. This means the pattern is offset by half a stitch in the centre, but I think it looks pretty good. Much better than a seam!
